Read time: 2 minutes
Hi, this is Simon with Litwire and depending on where you are in the world, you will read this either in 2022 or 2023.
In today’s issue, I’ll show you some excellent reasons why you should consider becoming a DevOps engineer. If you’re unfamiliar with DevOps, it’s a role that sits at the intersection of development and operations, intending to improve the efficiency and reliability of a company’s IT systems. Moreover, it’s an increasingly demanding role as businesses rely on high-quality software that can quickly and easily deploy and maintain.
One of the main reasons to become a DevOps engineer is the potential for a high salary. According to data from Glassdoor, the average salary for a DevOps engineer in the United States is $119,000 per year. This is significantly higher than the average salary for a software developer or systems administrator and reflects the high demand for professionals with these skills. Additionally, many jobs offer remote working opportunities!
In addition to a competitive salary, a career as a DevOps engineer also offers the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and methodologies, such as agile development, continuous integration, and cloud computing. You’ll be able to use your technical expertise to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your organization’s IT systems, which can significantly impact the business’s success.
But the benefits of becoming a DevOps engineer go beyond the financial rewards. It’s a role that allows you to be an integral part of an organization’s IT infrastructure, working with highly skilled professionals to deliver high-quality software and services. In addition, the DevOps space offers endless opportunities for learning and growth, as you’ll be exposed to a wide range of technologies and challenges.
So if you’re considering a career in IT and have a passion for development and operations, I highly recommend exploring the field of DevOps. It’s a rewarding and challenging role that offers a great combination of technical skills and business knowledge.
